Additions to Etsy store!

My back went out this past week and sadly I have not managed to do much. Thankfully after several days of yoga exercises, rest on our new foam mattress and several films later, my back feels much better today! During my rest, I have been thinking about additional items that I would like to sell on my (soon to open) Etsy store and have decided to put up my handmade bow pins along with my handmade earrings. For the reason I want my store to reflect my passions and joy, I thought these additions would be perfect. Here are sneak peaks of what you would see up on my store (and more to come), enjoy!

P&Y Homemade Mini Burgers

We got safely back from our short weekend down in SoCal and the moment we got there I longed to come back to Watsonville because of the heat. Despite the weather, we were able to enjoy time with our close family and friends. I was a bit sad that we had no time to stop by a couple of our favorite eating spots, so the moment we got back we stopped by our local grocery and picked up ingredients to make dishes that I have been craving. Last night we put together mini burgers for dinner and they were just perfect.

Ingredients for the patties:

1) 1lb ground beef
2) 1 spoon mayo
3) 1 spoon miso
4) 1 chopped green onion
5) 1/2 spoon minced garlic
6) 1 chopped pepper (optional, to give it a little kick)
7) Salt, pepper, garlic salt (sprinkle on the formed patties)

I first mixed ingredients numbers 1-6 together with hand then blended them in the blender. We then made mini burger patties and sprinkled them with ingredients listed in number 7. They were then pan fried. (My husband pan fried them on a med-high heat until the outside was cooked then steamed them a bit on the same pan by adding a little bit of water and covering them with a lid, this should help keep it juicy!)

Condiments (optional):

King's Hawaiian Bread (were lightly toasted on the pan, makes them crispy)
Grey Poupon Mustard
Mixed greens (we bought a ready to eat salad, included sweet red butter lettuce and baby spinach)
Sliced tomatoes
Sprouts
Sliced avocados

I will be trying out a chicken dish today, hopefully it turns out well like the mini burgers!

Summer's not over just yet...

My husband and I will be heading down to SoCal this weekend for a friends wedding and all I could think about was the hot humid weather that my friends on facebook have been complaining about and all the delicious food. Watsonville has had the perfect weather so far, sunny with a cool breeze, so I'm a bit excited to put into use some of the lightweight outfits that have been sitting in my closet! Here is an outfit I would look forward to wearing this weekend.

Online Store Sneak Peak

It has been some time since I have been wanting to start an online store and after leaving my job in SoCal to move up north for my husbands new job, things could not have happened at a more perfect time as I prepare to launch my own store on Etsy (more on this to come)! I am so excited to see how much of my passion will progress as I start this new chapter. Here are a few previews to what you will expect to see at my online store.

Oversized clutch, clutch with handle, fold over mini clutch

I made the inside of each clutch contrast to the outside to give them a little personality

I could not have done this without the great encouragement and love from my family and friends that believe in me and that this can really be successful, thank you <3

Santa Cruz Flea Market

On our way back home from church today we decided to take the local way home to tour the streets of Santa Cruz, Soquel and Capitola. While driving through Santa Cruz, we spotted the Santa Cruz Flea Market and decided to make a quick stop to look around. It reminded me much of the flea markets I had been to in SoCal but the only difference was that there were many fresh fruit and veggie stands here. I was not able to take a photo of any fresh product stands but here are some photos that grabbed my attention because of their beautiful hues.

This vendor had tables full of various character figurines (I wouldn't be surprised if they had all the character's that came in McD's happy meals!)

Colorful cowboy boots

Handmade toy flutes and hand drums

Vintage rings

Homemade Mexican Papas (potatoes) with hot sauce and lime juice (it was my husbands first time trying them and he loved it!)

We drove past so many antique stores in Soquel, we will definitely be going back to visit them.

From today's sermon, I was reminded that my faith solely lies in Christ alone. Even though I may not have a clear direction of my future, I know that being patient and putting my faith in him will be all the worthwhile.

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
